1/29/13 & 1/30/13

Yesterday we talked about the laws made to separate blacks from whites. We also talked about the 14th amendment that dealt with the issue of segregation. The amendment said that any one born in or naturalized was a citizen of the United States. Also the congress had to make sure that all of these rules were carried out so that way they could not favor anyone. Today we read about different people's plans for reconstruction. Johnson's was very forgiving of the south and did not punish them that much. Lincoln's was also very forgiving but had some rules to make sure the South was alliance with the Union. The Radical plan was very harsh and wanted to completely punish the south for all they had done. They did not want to show them forgiveness and wanted the to take account for what they did. My plan would have been like Lincoln's; not too harsh but not too forgiving either so that the states could come back but they had to somewhat pay for what they did.
