I forgot to add my bibliography to the end of my video! I tried to stop the uploading and add it on to the end but for some reason in Movie Maker my pictures would not show up and it deleted half of my narrations...... So I just kept the same video and I'll put my bibliography here:

How Have the Hatians Responded to the Presence of U.S. Marines in their Country?

The view of America's power in this world has nnot been good as of late. Some countries despise the fact that our government has taken it upon themselves to "help" developing nations with their own government. Some may not want the aid but that does not stop the U.S. The thoguht is that we are the super power in the western hemisphere so we have to "help" any country within our reach. Haiti has become one of these countries three years ago. Our government has seen them as in trouble after their revolution against France so we inserted our troops to d as we thought fit. The idea is to help them set up a stable government and have their trade prosper so that we can leave them with a strong and healthy country. Haitians no longer see what our government is doing as just.
There are talks of another uprising such as the one that occured when the Haitians seized control over France. But this time, it would be different. They want Americans out of their country for good. They see it would be easier than the first time because it is their country this time. The problem is, Americans do not want to get out.
The Haitians have responded wiht these thoughts of uprising and anger. They spread there angry thoguths to others to get people on board.

We talked about different speeches and sayings that have to do with the Panama Canal. I personally do not honk it is that bad that the US took it over to buil it because in the long run it helped everybody out in a major way in things like trade. It is a huge help to the whole world and try really needed t at that point in one and we do now as we'll.

I missed Wednesday because I was on a field trip. But in Thursday I caught up with the Muldowney's since they were out too and found that we read many paragraphs on things that happened in the time that we are studying. It was fun because we got to pick the best title that other made. Some were very creative becuase they were short and sweet and grabbed your attention. It was a good class.

We read about Hawaii and Alaska these two days. They are harsh ad hard to live on. Hawaii is volcanic rock where there is little vegetation. Alaska is cold and snowy where this hard to survive because of the temperature. So many things could go wrong in either place. I still love both.

Indian leaders

We talked about red cloud and sitting bull and what they each did as leaders. Neither of them wanted tog I've up their land. Hey wanted to fight the US government because they were taking way their land an forcing them to lie in reservations. I was wrong in thinking which photo was which but hey whatever. But the worst part is I lost a bet with mike in the pictures so I had to give him a piece o gum it's my favorite gum and I'm mad about it.
I really forget what we did. We talked about Indians and what they were like in their tribes. They wanted to be left alone but they were not.

Movie

We watched a movie about Indians. It was really old. The Indians acted a lot different than what we read that they were like. The Indians in real life are very peaceful and want nothing to do with the whites. In the movies they were very mean an wanted to kill all the whites. But hey it's Hollywood so it has to be very interesting.

Sure they did sme bad things and I know it wasn't right but we wouldn't be where we a are now if they hasn't. And ps Chelsea and I had the best skit and we winged it!

4/7/13 & 4/8/13

We learned about the experiences people had on the Oregon trail. They had trouble with the walking. It was very tiresome. It took a lot for people to just pack up and leave everything they've ever known behind for good. I know I would have a lot of trouble with that. But that may just be because I live in 2013 and not at that time where people were poor an things looked so much better in the west. People could start a new life. They could o whatever they wanted wherever they wanted. Anything could happen to them on their journey whether it be good or bad. Thy could only hope that they all made it to their destination.

4/3/13 & 4/4/13

My email would not open but Mr. Boyle sent pictures out of the slogan, icon, and poem we made yesterday. Jeff and I were representing the British. Our slogan was "This is just an annoyance" because the British just thought it was getting in the way of the real problem which was a war with Napoleon in Europe. Our icon was a flagship that they captured from the Americans and made it their own. I forget the poem. Today we talked about the star-spangled banner. I'm not sure if Whitney Houston lip sang it at the super bowl but I thought it was amazing nonetheless. We also talked about the curse the Indians put on every president elected into office in a year ending in 0. It actually happened! That's so crazy!

4/1/13

Today we discussed the reasons America went to war in 1812. I thought the most important reason was the order in councils. Everything else had an effect on the individual American and not on the country as a whole. Yes, I do agree that taking a sailor away from his family to fight for a country that is not his own is horrible but I thought that the Orders in Council had a greater effect. They made America's economy go down the drain because they were not allowed to trade with France or Britain. Britain made these rules and that is not right. American won their freedom because they wanted to get away from rules like that, trying to control their lives. Now it was happening all over again, threatening the freedom they had only just recently won.

1/29/13 & 1/30/13

Yesterday we talked about the laws made to separate blacks from whites. We also talked about the 14th amendment that dealt with the issue of segregation. The amendment said that any one born in or naturalized was a citizen of the United States. Also the congress had to make sure that all of these rules were carried out so that way they could not favor anyone. Today we read about different people's plans for reconstruction. Johnson's was very forgiving of the south and did not punish them that much. Lincoln's was also very forgiving but had some rules to make sure the South was alliance with the Union. The Radical plan was very harsh and wanted to completely punish the south for all they had done. They did not want to show them forgiveness and wanted the to take account for what they did. My plan would have been like Lincoln's; not too harsh but not too forgiving either so that the states could come back but they had to somewhat pay for what they did.

1/25/13 & 1/28/13

Last Friday we talked about what people were going to do after the war I think. I'm not really sure because I don't have my history binder and I can't remember at all. But I can tell you that we took notes on a powerpoint I believe about the end of the war. Today we went to the computer lab and did an exercise about what happened to the southern sates after Sherman's march to the sea. I did Louisiana and they grew in manufacturing but lost in farming because all their land was destroyed. Then we talked about the Black Code I thought it was wrong and uncalled for because blacks were just told that they were people and then not given the rights of the people.

1/22/13 & 1/23/13

Okay so I predicted that I was going to be Winnie the Pooh because he is happy and enjoys life (I know I had a little break down Mr. Boyle before Christmas but I am way over that and I am turning over a new leaf. Forget about that). Even before that time where I just hated the world I was always happy and enjoying the little things in life. I truly appreciated (and still do) what this world is. I find it amazing and beautiful and I want to see it all. I love being able to see things that take my breathe away. So that's why I thought I was going to get Winnie the Pooh. Maybe Roo. BUT EEYORE! I hoped not and I honestly thought I wouldn't. But what do you know? I did. WHAT!?!?! I find that kind of crazy. The description was: "You are Eeyore! To most people you seem moody and depressed, your true friends know better though. They know what you really want is respect and companionship. Which you would be more than happy to have, you're just not always sure how to go about expressing that." Honestly didn't know people saw me as moody and depressed. That's always good to hear. And I don't know how to make friends is basically what they said. I guess I'm not happy enough if I go by this quiz. I'm not coming off to people as happy. But I don't care what they say. When I heard this I knew the quiz was faulty. That's ridiculous. I AM NOT AN EEYORE. oh yeah we talked about the cause of the war and restoration vs. reconstruction and how Lincoln still wants control on the country as a whole and rebuild on what they had not start all over. The cause was slavery even though some people still think it wasn't.
